Tips for making approved and high-quality UGC

As a creator at WebContent , your success depends on creating content that brands love - and approve on the first try. Fortunately, it's not about expensive cameras or studio setups, but about authenticity, clear communication and understanding the brief.

Here are our top tips for creating UGC that gets approved - and reused.

1. understand the brief 100%

Before you get started:

  • Read the letter carefully

  • Understand the product and target audience

  • Look for tone-of-voice and specific requirements (e.g. "show logo at the end")

If something is unclear - ask via the in-app messaging feature.

2. Start strong - the first 3 seconds count

In social-first content , the first few seconds are crucial:

  • Start with energy

  • Ask a question, make a statement or show the product

  • Avoid slow introductions

Hook the user quickly - the chance of approval (and performance) is much higher.

3. Keep it authentic

Brands use UGC because it feels real and imperfect:

  • Speak naturally - not like an advertisement

  • Use your own language

  • Film in environments where you normally use the product

Authenticity > perfection

4. Remember the visual

Although it should be simple, quality is still important:

  • Use daylight or soft light

  • Avoid background noise

  • Keep the camera stable (e.g. use a windowsill or tripod)

5. Deliver on time and with structure

  • Upload in the right format (usually vertical video, mp4)

  • Name your files if possible

  • Follow any naming instructions in the brief

  • Meet the deadline - it counts in your profile score

Ready to elevate your content?

The better and more structured you deliver - the more often you will be chosen, reused and recommended. Use these tips as a checklist the next time you create video for a campaign.
